KFC in Nepal
Nov. 27 - KFC, an international fast-food restaurant chain has been opened in Kathmandu, capital city of Nepal. More than 500 people were served
in the first two hours of business. According to KFC and Pizza Hut many of the ingredients are imported from abroad, including the chicken from
Brazil and potatoes from Australia. Nepalese farmers are wondering why KFC and Pizza Hut need to import these while they are readily available in Nepal.
Montreal Celebrates Dashan 2009!
One of the biggest festivals of Nepal - Dashain celebrated in Montreal on October 3, 2009. As usual, Association of Nepalese in Quebec (ANQ)
organized the Dashain party with a cultural program. Nepali folk dances and songs followed by pomes and jokes and delicious food were unique features

The Biggest Festival of Nepal: Dashain
During the month of Kartik in the Bikram Sambat calendar (late September and early October), the Nepalese people indulge
in the biggest festival of the year, Dashain. Dashain is the longest and the most auspicious festival in the Nepalese annual calendar,
celebrated by Nepalese of all caste and creed throughout the country. The fifteen days of celebration occurs during the bright lunar fortnight
ending on the day of the full moon.

eco-adventure taking them to ecosystems on three continents. During an eight-day Nepalese trek, Noah celebrated his eleventh birthday at an altitude
of 2,853 metres in the village of Ghorepani.He read all he could about trekking, memorizing the names and elevations of each mountain as he and

We, as individuals, have personal identity with names, so that all the ethnic groups have their identities. As we respect each individual,
we have to respect all the ethnic groups. As individuals we cannot be divided, so the ethnic groups also cannot be divided. This applies even
more to the Nepali nation and Nepali people. We are one. Only if we are one, the nation will stand and survive.

suffered a heart attack, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press yesterday.
Police sought to talk to the doctor who was with the music icon during his last minutes and pumped his chest in a vain attempt to save his life.
As grief for the King of Pop poured out around the world, from the icons of music to heartbroken fans, an autopsy showed no sign of trauma to Jackson,
whose death came just weeks before he was to launch an epic comeback bid in a series of 50 concerts in London.

A Nepali Scientist's Discovery Offers New Hope For The Diagnosis And Treatment Of Alzheimer Disease
In a study published on May 15, Dr. Hemant Paudel, his PhD student Dong Han and postdoctoral fellows Hamid Qureshi and Yifan Lu
of the McGill University and the affiliated Lady Davis Research Institute for Medical Research at Montreal's Jewish General Hospital,
report that the addition of a single phosphate to an amino acid in a key brain protein is a principal cause of Alzheimer Disease (AD).
Identifying this phosphate, one of up to two-dozen such molecules, could make earlier diagnosis of the disease possible and might,
in the longer term, lead to the development of drugs to block its onset.
