Annual General Meeting of ANQ for the year 2011 was held on November 13, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.at 419 Saint-Roch, Montreal. The meeting was a grand success with participation of unprecedented very large number of members covering almost everyone! Apart from regular business of presenting progress report for the last year and financial report, a team of dynamic personalities was unanimously elected in executive committee for two years as follows:

Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism Minister Jason Kenney last week announced a new two-year, multi-entry "Super Visa" for parents and grandparents of immigrants settled in Canada.The move came after wait times for sponsorship of "family class" applications had grown to an unwieldy seven years or longer.

This year Association of Nepalese in Quebec (ANQ) took a new initiative in organizing a Dashain Celebration Program with a Dashain Cup Soccer Tournament, Dashain party and Cultural Program on 8th October 2011 in Montreal, Canada.

First time in Montreal, those who share the same language and culture grouped together to make the Dashain Celebration Event even more entertaining organizing the first Dashain Cup Soccer Tournament.

During the month of Kartik in the Bikram Sambat calendar (late September and early October), the Nepalese people indulge in the biggest festival of the year, Dashain. Dashain is the longest and the most auspicious festival in the Nepalese annual calendar, celebrated by Nepalese of all caste and creed throughout the country.

A group of young Nepalese immigrant from Nepal has just established a company called “haamro – initiative for better future” in Montreal, Quebec on September 11, 2011. There are more than 50 stakeholders in the haamro company.
